There are hundreds of emergency car kits available on the market. How do you know which one to choose? You have found this article because you are looking for the best emergency car kit with an air compressor.
BLIKZONE 82- Piece Auto Roadside Assistance Kit
- The Blikzone emergency car kit has the most robust air compressor of all the compressors reviewed here, with a nearly all metal composition
- It boasts an impressive 300 PSI at 25 LPM (Liters per minute) flow rate.
- Backlit LED digital display.
- Automatic Shutoff and thermal overheat protection
- Cigarette lighter plug-in
If you are basing your purchase of an emergency car kit around the air compressor, then you can’t go wrong with this package. The air compressor contained in this emergency car kit checks all the boxes.
To begin with is the durable metal construction, the internals on this air compressor are not going to wear out anytime soon. Next, you want to be sure that the compressor will be able to inflate your tires. The manufacturer claims an impressive 300 PSI at 25 LPM. What this means is that it should inflate just about any tire in a few minutes.
Another awesome feature is the thermal overheat protection and auto shutoff. If you have ever used one of these compressors you know they can get very hot; which damages them. With overheat protection, this shouldn’t happen.
The auto shutoff means you set the unit shuts down when it reaches the specified air pressure. Let’s say 34 PSI; when your tire reaches 34 PSI, the unit will shut down and you should be ready to go.
Be mindful there are several versions of this particular emergency car kit. There is one that is less expensive that does not contain this model of the air compressor.
The price is on the high side for an emergency car kit, but you will hard pressed to find a more complete kit.
A feature that is lacking that I consider a ‘con’ is the lack of a first aid kit. The Blikzone 82 piece has a lot of other items, but no first aid kit. So you will need to supplement with your own first aid kit. While not a deal-breaker, it’s disappointing it’s not included.
Overall, most people were impressed with this emergency car kit, especially for first time drivers or college students.
While the overall presentation of the Everlit Roadside Assitance kit is not as impressive as the Blikzone, it is still a quality option. This is especially true since we are focusing on the air compressor.
The Everlit compressor comes with solid ABS plastic and stainless steel construction. So it is unlikely to break down during use.
Also, like the Blikzone compressor it has a digital display and automatic shutoff. A nice set it and forget it feature.
With only 150 PSI, it may take a minute to inflate a tire and there may be difficulty in inflating larger tires to max capacity. However, that is more than enough to get you going again.
People that have purchased this product have been very pleased with the air compressor. Some have even been using it around the house to top off other inflatable items.
Another bonus to this emergency car kit is the jumper cables. The included cables are 8 gauge and 12.5 feet long. While not what I recommend to carry, these are pretty good for an emergency car kit.
Like all things, you can’t please everyone all the time. A few reviewers were unhappy with the air compressor, they didn’t feel the quality was up to par. Also, you may want to supplement with a small basic toolset.
For the price, this is a solid emergency car kit at a great price point.
The heyloo Car Emergency Roadside Kit is a relative new comer to the scene at Amazon. However, the customers that have bought it are very impressed with it.
This air compressor is very similar to the Everlit in that it has a digital display with automatic shutoff. This is a very nice feature, in that you can set your PSI and then tend to other things while your tire is reflating.
What’s also nice about this air compressor is it boasts a one to three minute inflate time. Of course, this depends on how flat your tire is.
The air compressor contained in this kit again checks all the boxes. It seems to be a solid unit and the people that have used this product have been pleased with it. An obvious drawback is the lack of customer experience with the product, time may tell a different story.
Lastly, the 1 gauge 13-foot jumper cables are very impressive. Of the three emergency kits, these are the highest-rated jumper cables and should have not a problem jump starting a battery.
Flat tires and dead batteries are two of the most common ailments facing drivers today. All three of these emergency car kits address these problems well.
Hands down the Blikzone has the most impressive air compressor of the bunch, but at a hefty cost. The Everlit and heyloo are have more than capable air compressors and at a budget friendly price.
There you have it. Analyze your needs and make the selection that is good for you.
